Our Culture

At Ventus 36 QRC, we are guided by Integrity, Excellence and Vision. We embrace innovation and continuous improvement, while remaining committed to principled advocacy, rigorous professional standards and practical, independent judgment.

We believe that every client deserves to be served with care, diligence and respect, regardless of background, resources or the size of the case. We seek to place clients’ true interests first by giving clear, candid and responsible advice, and by approaching every matter with the seriousness it deserves.

We welcome barristers who share these values and who are committed to high-quality legal work, professional independence and a forward-looking approach to practice. Our members support one another through the exchange of knowledge, experience and perspectives. Where appropriate, we refer work to colleagues whose expertise is best suited to a client’s needs, recognising that a client is best served when a matter is placed with the most suitable counsel.

Ventus 36 QRC is intended to be more than a workplace. We strive to create a warm, supportive and positive professional environment in which colleagues can work alongside one another, learn from each other and grow together. Through regular social gatherings, professional exchanges and day-to-day collegiality, we aim to build a friendly and collaborative chambers culture where every member is valued and encouraged to contribute.

Our Facilities

Ventus 36 QRC provides a professional, secure and welcoming working environment in Central, designed to support the practical demands of modern barristerial practice.

Our facilities offer members a place to work, prepare, meet and collaborate with confidence. We seek to maintain an environment that is practical, well organised and suitable for focused legal work, client conferences, professional meetings and the day-to-day life of chambers.

Located in the heart of Central, approximately two minutes’ walk from Central MTR Station, Ventus 36 QRC is well placed for convenient access to the courts, solicitors’ firms, clients and Hong Kong’s legal and commercial communities. Its location reflects both the professional standing of the chambers and our commitment to being accessible and connected property.

Security and confidentiality are central to the way we work. Access to the main entrance and individual rooms is managed through facial-recognition access controls, helping to protect the privacy of members, clients and confidential materials. We maintain dedicated server infrastructure and appropriate information-management practices designed to safeguard professional and client data, reduce the risk of unauthorised access and support the secure handling of sensitive information.

Our conference facilities are equipped with an interactive smart touchscreen display, AI-enabled meeting tools, a high-definition webcam and integrated audio equipment. These facilities support remote hearings, video conferences, virtual client meetings, Zoom and Webex calls, as well as seminars, training sessions and professional presentations.

Members also have access to IP telephony and Webex communications, enabling them to receive and make chambers and client calls while working remotely or travelling overseas, subject to the requirements of each matter and applicable professional obligations.

To support efficient and high-quality legal work, Ventus 36 QRC provides access to leading legal research databases, including Westlaw and Lexis Nexis, together with selected AI-enabled legal and productivity tools. Our staff are trained in the responsible use of these technologies and assist members in using them effectively, while recognising that technology supports—but never replaces—professional judgment, independence and responsibility.

We are proud of the quality, experience and professionalism of our staff. They provide reliable secretarial and document-delivery support to our members, including the timely filing, collection and delivery of court documents and other professional papers, helping to ensure that the practical requirements of each matter are handled efficiently and with care.

Flexible Arrangements

We recognise that barristers at different stages of practice may have different professional, practical and financial needs. For this reason, we seek to offer flexible arrangements that can be discussed according to the circumstances of each individual member.

Whether a barrister is establishing an independent practice, seeking a more collaborative chambers environment, requiring regular workspace and facilities, or looking for an arrangement that reflects a developing or changing practice, we are open to discussing appropriate options in good faith.

In addition to rooms for members who require a dedicated workspace, we provide a separate shared working area for desk tenants who may not require a permanent private room but wish to work from chambers from time to time.  Secure lockers are available for both desk tenants and door tenants, providing practical storage for professional materials while supporting privacy and orderly working arrangements.

Door tenancy may suit barristers whose practice does not require regular workspace at chambers, but who wish to remain connected to the chambers community and make use of support or facilities when needed.

We also recognise that members’ operational requirements vary.  Special or adjusted rates may be available for members who require limited secretarial support or only occasional use of conference-room facilities.  We aim to discuss arrangements openly and, where appropriate, tailor them to each member’s actual working requirements.

Our approach is practical and transparent.  We welcome conversations about arrangements that are fair, sustainable and suited both to the individual member’s needs and to the long-term development of Ventus 36 QRC.
